The Emmy Award-winner American film actress Patricia T. Arquette was born on 8th April, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois, USA but she was brought up in Virginia and in California. Arquette is of Jewish and distant French descent. Arquette’s mother Mardi Olivia was an actress, theater operator, poet, activist, therapist and acting teacher, her father Lewis Arquette was an actor. Patricia Arquette is the granddaughter of the late comedian Cliff Arquette. Arquette is sister to the actors Rosanna, Richmond, Alexis and David Arquette; and sister-in-law to the American actress and film producer Courteney Cox Arquette, who is married to David Arquette.
At age 18, Patricia Arquette started her career from 1986’s showbiz Pretty Smart. In 1987, Arquette gained popularity for her starring role as Kristen Parker in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. In 1993, Arquette starred in American romantic crime movie True Romance. Soon after successfully accomplishing these roles Arquette’s career gained momentum and she appeared in many critically acclaimed movies including Ed Wood, Ethan Frome, Beyond Rangoon, Lost Highway, Bringing Out The Dead, Stigmata, Human Nature, Flirting with Disaster and Disney’s Holes. In January 2005, Arquette began performing in her first American dramatic television series Medium which premiered on NBC on 3rd January, 2005 . The success of Medium turned Arquette into a household name.
In 1995, Arquette was married to Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage with whom she co-starred in Bringing Out the Dead released in 1999. Both separated after 9 months, but publicly behaved as a couple until 2001 when they finally divorced. Within a year Patricia T. Arquette and actor Thomas Jane got engaged. The couple later married on 25th June, 2006 in Italy. The are blessed with a daughter by the name Harlow Olivia Calliope born on 20th February, 2003. Arquette also has a son named Enzo born in 1989, from her relationship with Paul Rossi.
After the death of her mother due to breast cancer in 1997, Arquette started contributing in cash and kind towards the fight against the dreaded disease. Arquette participated in the annual Race for the NGO Cure, in 1999 she was the Lee National Denim Day spokesperson which raises substantial funds for breast cancer education and research.
Arquette won a Cable ACE Award in 1991 for her act as a deaf epileptic in the movie Wildflower. She also won an Emmy Award in 2005 for Outstanding Lead Actress for her defining role of a profiler & psychic Allison DuBois on NBC telecasted Medium. In 2006, Arquette got nomination for a SAG award and a Golden Globe Award for the same role in Medium. In 2007, she again received nomination for a Golden Globe Award for Medium.
On 7th May, 2007, NBC renewed Medium for the 4th season. In April 2008, NBC announced that Medium is ready with its 5th season due to its high ratings and widespread viewership. Arquette is currently performing in the NBC drama series Medium.
